gFiber sells three residential plans. Each one uploads as fast as it downloads, has unlimited data and includes the router and installation in the monthly price. There's no promotional rate: gFiber says its 1 Gig price has been $70 since it launched in 2012.

Core 1 Gig covers most households: several 4K streams, video calls and gaming at once, and an upload fast enough to back up a phone's photos in minutes. Home 3 Gig makes sense in larger homes with lots of devices or people working from home, since its Wi-Fi 7 router and extenders cover more space. Edge 8 Gig is for wired multi-gig use, such as moving very large files between computers on a 10G network.
gFiber's plans run from 1,000 Mbps to 8,000 Mbps, and the upload speed equals the download speed on each one (gfiber.com, checked Nov 6, 2026).
No. gFiber says it doesn't use promotional pricing and hasn't raised its internet prices; your rate stays the same, plus taxes and the local access fee.
Yes. Each plan includes a gFiber router, and gFiber also lets you connect your own instead.
It's a fee some local governments charge for using public rights-of-way such as roads and utility poles. gFiber passes it directly to the local government, and the amount depends on your city.
